Volume 82: Railtown Cafe grand opening in East Vancouver on August 8, 2012. More photos available on Flickr.

Railtown is now graced with a new local eatery to serve all the offices and worker bees in the developing industrial area.

The joint was soon packed mostly with owl workers across the street from the HootSuite offices (including my sister from another mister, Sandra Chung, above).

I hit up Nor Boo for some late night soju bombs (beer with shots of soju) and a tweetup along with Janice (looking like my twin on the right), Amy (to the left), Queenie (drinking angrily below), Shelley (to her left, below)…

Also joined by tweeps Anita, Johnny, Phil, Lloyd, Kevin, Val, Will, and Dennis (sniffing wife May‘s hair, below). For the unfamiliar, soju is a Korean alcohol that goes down dangerously smooth and lacks the pungent taste and aroma of regular booze (and comes in various flavours).

Pop up shops are rapidly becoming all the rage. This is double for an intersection of art and commerce like Vancouver.

En vogue, artistic folk and the co-founder behind Cargoh set up shop in the heart of Gastown for a three day art and design fair last weekend, appropriately called Gather.

Down in False Creek, C Restaurant held a showcase tasting of a variety of dishes and takes on tasty Hawkshaw salmon.

The Viaggio Hospitality Group organized an after work cocktail tour of their dining amenities located inside the Moda Hotel.

We wandered through the backroom hallways, starting off at the Cibo Trattoria restaurant for wine o’clock.
