Happy almost Halloween!

Taking candy from strangers isn't usually encouraged, except on Halloween. Even then, it's usually a kids-only event. For adults, that leaves a candy-free Vancouver to explore and there are plenty of fun, adult-friendly events.

Here are some spooky eve events happening around town: 

Halloween boat parties

Haunted Houses

There are several creepy houses you can go to for a good scare, such as this farm with four spooky attractions and this evil circus themed house. 

Halloween Drag Brunch

This drag performance serves up themed acts and a special menu.

When: Oct. 30, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Halloween Costume Beach Cleanup

Why not dress up as a friendly ghost for Halloween and do some good for the planet? There will be a costume contest so dress to impress.

Afroween Chapter 2

This Halloween party will also have a costume contest, prizes, and a surprise dance performance.

Afro Bus Crawl

Mingle and dance at two open bar bus parties while club-hopping through three Vancouver clubs.

Ghostly Gastown Tour

Learn about the murders, hauntings, and other intriguing tales of one of Vancouver's oldest neighbourhoods on this evening tour. There's another tour of Gastown's chilling history mixing fiction and facts.

Taylor Swift Halloween Dance Party

Though a couple of weeks before Halloween, it's never too early to jam out to Taylor Swift among fellow Swifties.

Costume Night Paint Party

Dress up and unleash your inner artist at this costumed paint party. Supplies are provided and the paint night will be guided by an expert. Just bring your own snacks.

The Horror on Hastings

This is your chance to watch wrestlers wrangle horror villains. From zombies and demons to witches and maniac psycho killers, it is bound to be a horrifying match.

Hoppy Horror Beer Show

This festival is more like a Halloween party with monsters, such as Dracula and Frankenstein, performing burlesque. Plus there will be plenty of unique beers, meads, and ciders, of course. 

When: Oct. 21, 2022 from 7-10 p.m.

Halloweed

Chill out to music, listen to speeches, and shop from local vendors at this unique pre-Halloween event. 

When: Oct. 22 at 10 a.m.

Halloween Flash Tattoos

If you're looking for a spooky tattoo the day before Halloween or a fun bonding activity with friends, this event will have several tattoo artists to ink some cool designs. The first come first serve event will also have a costume contest.

Catrina Workshop

Learn how to do Catrina makeup and about the tradition behind the makeup look seen on La Catrina, an iconic figure in Mexican culture that represents death.
