Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery that occurred in a Yaletown boutique last fall.

On Sep. 30, 2022, a small business on Howe Street was robbed by two people who used bear spray on staff members. Vancouver police released store security video shortly after the incident asking the public for help identifying the suspect.

Tips from the public led investigators to a man and woman: Elliot Daryl Cassels, 29, and Jolesa Isabelle Ascon-Ramos, 22. They were arrested last week according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Cassels has been charged with robbery and possession of a weapon and Ascon-Ramos with robbery.

“The impacts of violent crime are long-lasting, not just on victims, but throughout the entire community,” says Sgt. Steve Addison in a press release.
