Vancouver Is Awesome, and we are dedicated to everything that makes it that way.

If you want to read ugly, bad news about this beautiful city of ours, you’re going to have to look to traditional media and other blogs; V.I.A. promotes everything that makes our city awesome, from old to new and everything inbetween. We’re like the human interest piece on the news… only different.

The Local Competition: Discorder Magazine

February 13, 2011

Hey VIAindie fans… we made the cut into CBC Radio 3′s Searchlight TOP 60!!!
R3 is looking for The Best Canadian Music Website, and we’re honored to be nominated and that you guys have been voting for us!

That being said, we’re not the only ones from Vancouver/BC nominated, so we want to show off our competition.

There are FOUR days left to vote…YOU CAN DO SO BY CLICKING HERE.

So the sixth website in our “The Local Competition” feature is our friends at Discorder Magazine!

I don’t know what we can say about Discorder…they have been a wonderful partner to VIA…giving our magazine a home and throwing an amazing concert with us. Their website is just as great (think of the magazine, but digital!). We’d vote for them any day and if you want to too you have a few more days to do so!

***Check back daily to see another website by our Local Competition…and vote EVERY DAY (once a day) until Thursday the 17th***

V.I.A. and Discorder show reviews

January 8, 2011

Thanks to everybody who came out to our show we put on with Discorder Magazine at the Biltmore last night, supporting both of our FREE Vancouver publications and four very talented bands (Facts, The Oh Wells, Oh No! Yoko, and 41st and Home).

Click below to read a review from Kirk Hamilton on the 3AM Revelations blog…

Also, Tyler from Said The Whale was at the show and here’s his review of Oh No! Yoko‘s set in less than 140 characters:

Like our double issue magazine look out for more joint efforts between V.I.A. and Discorder!
