Exciting news for fans of baked goods. Purebread Bakery, the Whistler-born mecca of breads and treats, has just announced they are opening a Mount Pleasant location.
Situated west of Main Street and south of Olympic Village, Purebread's second Vancouver outpost will be located at 5 east 5th Avenue at Ontario Street.
The new location is in an a mixed industrial and residential area that is populated with a number of foodie hidden gems. Nearby to a number of beloved coffee shops and places like did you struck, Purebread joins the ranks of local bakeries in the area like Fife, and, just a few paces away, Terra Breads.
This new Purebred shop is definitely in the early construction phase; they’ve taken the space formerly occupied by a lighting shop.
Purebread, which began in Whistler and has a presence at Metro Vancouver farmers' markets, hit the Vancouver scene with their brick-and-mortar shop near Gastown (159 West Hastings Street) a couple of years ago. Known for their wickedly good breads, brownies, cookies, cakes, sandwiches, and all manner of eye-popping treats, Purebread is always a must-visit when in Whistler Village, too.
Hopefully we can get more details soon about what Purebread has in store for this new Vancouver space, and get a sense of when they'll be open for business.
UPDATE AUGUST 10, 2018: Great news! Opening is imminent, according to Purebread. The bakery is in the hiring process for the new cafe/production kitchen. It's looking like Mount Pleasant will have their hands on these fab baked goods within the next week or so.
