It's the end of a brief era for Mission. The Kitsilano restaurant announced this weekend they would be closing for good on May 13.
Mission opened in mid-2015, and was the first chef-owner venture for Curtis Luk, who may be familiar to die hard Canadian food fans thanks to his appearance on season 2 of Top Chef Canada.

It was on Top Chef Canada where Luk met fellow-cheftestant Trevor Bird. Luk came on board with Bird at Fable, also on 4th Avenue in Kits, before migrating across the way to launch his own project. Before Mission, Luk also ran the kitchen at the now-shuttered vegetarian spot The Parker.
Mission was a critical darling when it opened, serving up a tasting menu-only option for diners. Eventually they revamped the menu, but have now opted to call it quits.
"So sad to announce Mission will be closing May 13," the restaurant posted on their bar's Instagram account.
Mission is located at 2042 4th Avenue.
