We received some developments about the future of Roundhouse Radio last night.
It was announced mid April that the station would be going dark as of April 30th. However Gene Valaitis noted on air yesterday that "an offer is being considered, negotiations continue, you're just going to have to stay tuned".
Station manager Don Shafer will be leaving, however the signal (and the content) will continue for a couple of weeks.
They'll be playing some "best of" segments, Gene seems to be keeping his show, our Glacier Media colleagues at Business In Vancouver will continue their daily show, and we'll just have to wait and see if there's going to be a final curtain call or if a buyer will come in and "save" the ailing station.
We should know what the future of the station holds by May 15th at the latest.
