The rain that started up Wednesday night across Metro Vancouver will continue to soak the region through Friday.
A rainfall warning for most of Metro Vancouver is in place, and includes the City of Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, and West and North Vancouver. These areas can expect total rainfall amounts of 70-90 mm by Friday morning.
Similarly, rainfall warnings are in place for the neighbouring Sea to Sky and Fraser Valley regions, with snowfall warnings for higher elevations. Drive B.C. has issued a warning about treacherous storm conditions on the Coquihalla.
The heavy rains bring with them risk of flooding, including flash floods. Drivers are cautioned to take extra care on the roads.
While this storm is expected to dissipate by Friday, rain remains in the forecast for Vancouver for every single day of the seven-day range.
