Donnelly Group opened The Ballyhoo Public House at 888 Burrard St. in Vancouver’s Cinema District this June.
The Burrard and Smithe corner location has long been the go-to Cinema District destination for locals, movie fans, and thirsty visitors. Continuing in that tradition, the former space of the famed Winking Judge pub will now be revitalized as the newest Donnelly Group endeavour; The Ballyhoo Public House.
The spaces has a storied history as a gas station, auto dealership, all- night diner, and once again, a neighbourhood watering hole. The ongoing renovation are expected to build on the past and boast a series of updates and upgrades into the scuffed up soul of the iconic 80-year old building.
Eager partons can look forward to a thirst-quenching menu of local craft beers and a considerate cocktail program while the “modern pub menu” will feature a bar-food staples sitting alongside a few unexpected twists and turns.
According to Donnelly Group representatives, The Ballyhoo Public House’s snug setting will draw inspiration from 70s NYC bars, but with the modern conveniences of a contemporary tasting room.
Should you have enjoyed a late night out The Ballyhoo Public House be sure to check back in on the weekend for fresh-pressed juice and a dedicated brunch menu.
