UPDATE: Seaton Faria has been located safe and sound, according to the VPD.
An elderly Vancouver resident with dementia is missing, and authorities are turning to the public to help locate him.
Seaton Faria, 87, left his care home at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday night near Oak Street and 28th Avenue, according to the Vancouver Police Department.
"His absence is out of character and VPD is concerned for his well-being," note police.
Faria is described as being Caucasian with fair skin. He is 5'5" with a medium build, short balding hair, and glasses. He usually wears a dark sweater and dark sweatpants.
Police also note that Faria is likely to be walking slowly and may appear confused or disoriented. However, Faria may also be unlikely to ask for help.
Faria might be on foot and heading toward the area of Main Street and 7th Avenue in Mount Pleasant.
Anyone who sees Seaton Faria is asked to call 9-1-1 and stay with him until first responders arrive.
