It will officially be the holiday season when Vancouver’s stunning 76-foot-tall Christmas tree starts to twinkle.
The giant coniferous will be lit up in all its glory on Friday, Nov. 29 at Robson Square, adding festive cheer to the heart of downtown.
Vancouverites are invited to experience the festive tradition, now in its 13th year, and watch as four magnificent trees come alive with hope and light for the holidays. Once lit, the trees will shine bright until the first week of January.
The family friendly tree-lighting event also features live entertainment and music, plus free cookies and hot chocolate. And of course, Santa and his elves will be on hand for photo ops.
While the event offers a night of fun and cheer, the tree-lighting event is ultimately about helping kids in need by supporting the Vancouver International Children’s Festival Society.
In addition to the festivities, visitors are encouraged to make a donation to the society to help them continue to enrich the lives of children and ensure the Festival remains affordable.
Your contribution directly impacts the amazing outreach programs the society provides, such as the Good Neighbour Program, Adopt a Class and the Hospital Outreach Program.
You can also help light up the trees by buying a bulb. You can purchase five bulbs for $5 or 15 bulbs for $10.
