A coyote was not so wily after getting its head stuck in a jar and had to be freed by conservation officers in Maple Ridge.
The COs tranquilized the animal, removed the jar and poured water over the animal's body to cool it down.
The coyote recovered in a safe space in the shade, with a water dish beside it.
Conservation officers stayed until the coyote began to regain mobility.
The BCCOS reminds everyone to wash out jars before placing them out for collection day so as not to attract wildlife.
