The Vancouver Aquarium's two-toed sloth, Hurricane, is a fan-favourite. Not only is she cute, but she is also unique. While the vast majority of the Aquarium's offerings are aquatic, this furry tree-dweller prefers the view from up high.
What's more, her and the other two-towed sloth, Sally, spend almost their entire lives in trees. In fact, these critters mate, sleep, eat, and even give birth while hanging upside down. They can even hold their pee for 156 hours at a single time - that is almost an entire week long!
This adorable duo lives along with Amazon parrots, Scarlet ibises, Red-footed tortoises and more in the Aquarium's Graham Amazon Gallery. Although they tend to camouflage, the Aquarium's new training platform ensures that visitors are more likely to see a sloth up close now more than ever before.
The Aquarium also shared a painfully cute video of Hurricane stating how, "They've remained hidden long enough. The world NEEDS to know about sloth ears."
