Vancouver has great libraries, and libraries are awesome. Free books makes the world a better place!
Vancouver newest library, the Kensington Branch, located at 1428 Cedar Cottage Mews (Kingsway and Knight), is a great little library.
Bright and welcoming, it's a great place to grab a quick read, or somewhere to kick back and kill some time and read through some mags or newspapers. They also have public access internet (for those days that your Wifi is down and you're broke...).
The library is located in an inner courtyard that has some interesting sculptural pieces installed. Hanging from walls, crawling on the ground and perched up on railings are real size vultures, sloths, pigs, rats, beavers, snakes and a multitude furry beasts scattering around on the sidewalks.
It all makes for an interesting visit, and something that makes our public libraries something to write home about!
