ST. STEPHEN, N.B. — RCMP in New Brunswick say a 27-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in St. George.

Police say they responded to a report of a crash on Highway 1 around 3:15 a.m. Saturday.

The Mounties say the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, died at the scene.

It’s believed the crash occurred after the vehicle, which was travelling in the wrong direction, hit a guardrail and rolled across the highway and into a ditch.

The New Brunswick coroner's office is assisting with the investigation, which is ongoing.

An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the man's cause of death.
