Castle Fun Park could be opening in just a few months following last year's catastrophic flooding which submerged much of the Abbotsford property.
The damage to the popular theme park was first seen in aerial footage taken in the aftermath of the rains that flooded the Sumas Prairie in November 2021. In the weeks following, the Wiebe family, which has owned the theme park for over 32 years, addressed the damage in a lighthearted letter.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with our neighbours in the Sumas Prairie in this time of loss, as well as the communities throughout BC who are affected,” the letter read before seeing a bit of comical silver lining and added:
“We have three underwater mini golf courses now!”
Last week though the family provided another, update along with a video showing off the flood water damage.
"Just came up for air to let you know we’re working towards a late spring/early summer re-opening!"
