You might want to inspect the goods in your cookie jar before you take a bite out of a sweet treat.
Health Canada warns that a variety of cookie was sold at popular wholesaler Costco may contain pieces of wood.
A recall notification posted on Friday, Oct. 6 states that the Kirkland Signature brand Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Cookie has been recalled "due to pieces of wood."
The recall applies to all best-before dates from Sept. 3 to and including Sept. 23; they also have the following UPC code: 0 00017 38525 1.
The recalled cookies were sold at Costco stores across Canadian provinces including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.
Do not eat, sell, or distribute any of these cookies. If you feel you have a health issue associated with the consumption of the cookies, contact your healthcare provider.
