The BC SPCA is now accepting adoption applications for the Husky puppies that were recently surrendered over the holidays.
The organization made the announcement today (Jan. 3) on social media.
"Thank you again for being there for these sweet puppies! We are making final arrangements to get the adoption process moving for (most of) them next week. Which means...we are now accepting applications!" states the SPCA's Facebook page.
The puppies will be adopted out of two branches: Vernon and South Okanagan.
The SPCA will only be accepting online applications as to not overwhelm the shelters.

To apply for pups in the South Okanagan (the branch is located in Penticton), click HERE.
In its Facebook post, the SPCA notes that all interested applicants (and their other furry companions) must meet the Husky puppies in person.
On Dec. 27, news broke that the owner of 17 Husky puppies and two adult dogs surrendered the animals to the SPCA. They had been living on a property in the southern Interior, outside in the cold and snow, according to Marcie Moriarty, the organization's chief prevention and enforcement officer.
The owner surrendered the animals to animal control officers, who held them overnight before transferring the dogs to the local SPCA branch on Christmas Eve.
The dogs were "shivering, lethargic and riddled with parasites" when they arrived at the shelter.
