A prayer and candlelight vigil was held Friday night, Feb. 21 for missing Squamish man Daniel Reoch, who was last seen on Nov. 26.
The aim was to keep community awareness focussed on his disappearance and build strength among his family and friends.
Family and friends gathered at O'Siyam Pavilion and Junction Park wearing green ribbons as a symbol of remembrance.
Squamish RCMP say officers continue to search daily for Reoch. Members from the Sea to Sky RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS), Squamish SAR, and the Integrated First Nations Unit were on the waters of Howe Sound, shoreline of Squamish Estuary, and Cheakmus River on Feb. 11.
"We will continue to do varying tasks as per a Missing Persons investigational file and work with Squamish Search and Rescue on land and water searches," Squamish RCMP Sgt. spokesperson Sascha Banks told The Chief.
Reoch is a 29-year-old Squamish Nation man. He was last seen in late November on the back porch of his aunt's place on Squamish Valley Road. He walked away down the trail that leads to Lewis Drive and hasn't been seen since, his family says.
He is 5'9, 150 lbs. and has short brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about Reoch is asked to come forward to the Squamish RCMP, their nearest detachment or contact Crimestoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
