A nine-unit townhouse development is proposed on Francis Road, between Garden City and No. 4 roads, and, if approved by city council would replace two single-family homes.
The proposal is coming to next week’s planning meeting.
The developer, Manswell Enterprises, has tried to consolidate other lots as well with the two properties, 9391 and 9371 Francis Rd., but wasn’t successful, according to a report going to the planning meeting.
The developer will have to contribute about $178,000 to the city’s affordable housing strategy in lieu of building affordable and market rentals.
They will also have to contribute about $18,500 to the city instead of building an indoor amenity space.
The townhouses are proposed in four clusters and will be two- and three-story high buildings.
Duplex proposed for single-family lot
Another zoning proposal on Francis Road will also be at the same planning meeting.
A developer wants to build a duplex at 6660 Francis Rd., just west of Gilbert Road, replacing a single-family home.
The home, built in 1954, will be demolished.
The developer will have to make a contribution to the city’s affordable housing fund of about $43,000.
The planning meeting takes place on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
