That's according to Western Investor, which released a "Top Five B.C. Retirement Towns" list published Friday.
Summerland made the list for multiple reasons, including "proximity to wineries, fruit orchards, golf courses and some of the longest sunlight hours in Canada."
The article also references nearby ski hills like Apex and Big White, and year-round activities like birdwatching, hiking and winery tours.
It also notes that Summerland Health Centre offers outpatient care and other medical services, while Penticton Regional Hospital is just a short drive away.
Summerland was the only interior town to make the list, which was reported in no particular order.
The four others were all on either Vancouver Island or the Sunshine Coast: Sechelt, Qualicum Beach, Comox and Sidney.
