On Friday, Nov. 18 the long-awaited Pacific Centre Apple store will finally open to the public.
Today (Nov. 8) the tech giant announced the opening of its two-storey downtown store with its own entrance across from the Vancouver Art Gallery on West Georgia and Howe streets by unveiling the large-scale "barricade" mural on its facade. The mural was done by Canadian designer Mooren Bofill with contributions by xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) weaver and artist Debra Sparrow.
The artwork spans over 30 feet and contains a dozen hidden references to apple products like AirPods and Face ID.
The store is the long-anticipated location of the mall's renovated atrium that was formerly the iconic Pacific Centre dome.
The new retail space is about double the size of its predecessor at the mall.
The Vancouver Apple flagship will welcome visitors with a weekend of events and special guests.
