Much & Little, an independent clothing, gift and home goods store is closing permanently soon.

After 13 years in the heart of Mount Pleasant, Much & Little is closing down.

The little shop at 2543 Main St. will close by the end of September; the substantial online side of operations will close around the same time as stock sells out.

"My heart is just calling me to do something else," says owner Sarah Savoy in a video announcing the closure.

Savoy goes on to say that the business is healthy and it's not being sold, she's just come to a point where she wants to explore other options.

"The simple reason is that my heart has been calling me in a different direction for some time, and I have finally mustered the courage to respond to that call," she writes in another post.

The store, which opened in fall 2011, has been a popular spot for clothing, gifts, and home goods. It's currently having a closing-out sale to empty the store.

"It’s weird to see things going without being replenished, but that’s the situation. Once it’s gone, it’s gone!" reads a recent post.
