If there’s one thing Adam Gaudette knows how to do, it’s making his wife laugh.
The laughter is readily apparent when you scroll through their social media, whether it’s Gaudette doing his Borat impression or cracking jokes on his Twitch stream. Gaudette is clearly a bit of a goofball, but so is his wife, Micaela. They seem just right for each other.
Unfortunately, he also knows how to make her cry: a roundhouse kick to the head.
The kick to the head happened at their wedding and Micaela shared it last week on their shared TikTok, @gaudsquad, taking part in a TikTok meme that uses the song “Oh No” by Capone to capture a disastrous moment. Gaudette was attempting a shirtless lapdance as part of the wedding reception — there’s that goofball element again — but when he attempted to turn and put his leg over her head, he instead caught her square in the jaw.
@gaudsquad How my husband ruined our wedding part 1🥰🤗 ##men :/ ##wedding

I appreciate that Micaela captioned this, “How my husband ruined our wedding part 1” as if this is a multi-part series of the many, many ways that Gaudette ruined their wedding.
Fortunately, this ill-fated lapdance didn’t actually ruin their wedding, as clarified by Micaela in a follow-up TikTok sharing a longer version of the video, which hilariously features her mother laughing uncontrollably at her daughter getting kicked in the face.
@gaudsquad Reply to @tigervibe sooo I cried for a bit and he felt insanely bad but it was fine because we ended up partying until 8 am with our best friends

“I think I have a concussion,” says Micaela while laughing, as she heads off to the bathroom to cry.
She also notes that her husband felt “insanely bad,” which is an appropriate thing to feel when you’ve roundhouse kicked your wife in the face immediately after getting married. It’s not the most auspicious start to a marriage.
Fortunately, Micaela was fine and she and her husband partied with their friends “until 8am,” which isn’t the best thing to do with a concussion, so hopefully she didn’t actually have one. Since they got married back in June, it’s safe to say that any concussion symptoms would have shown up by now.
The viral video has spread beyond Canucks fans and even beyond North America, as the story was picked up by The Daily Mail in the UK. As the continued popularity of America’s Funniest Home Videos tells us, everyone likes an embarrassing mishap at a wedding. It’s humour that crosses societal boundaries.
At the very least, Adam and Micaela’s wedding was memorable. It’s awfully hard to forget getting roundhouse kicked in the face.
