Vancouver Coastal Health has issued coronavirus (COVID-19) public exposure warnings for a Vancouver seafood restaurant
Hook Seabar, a seafood-focused restaurant overlooking English Bay in the West End, is now at the top of the VCH public exposures list and the warning covers a string of days in February:

- Potential exposure date(s): Feb. 9 to Feb. 14, during operating hours
The restaurant announced Tuesday on its social media that they would be closing the restaurant until further notice because a team member had tested positive for COVID-19.
"Our team is committed to protecting the health and safety of our community and for that reason we have proactively decided [to] be closed for an open ended amount of time," says the restaurant.
Hook Seabar notes that their on-site COVID-19 protocols include staff wearing masks while on the property, daily temperature and overall "health checks," distancing, and frequent sanitization of high traffic areas, adding that Vancouver Coastal Health "has deemed this a low-risk potential exposure."
During the closure, Hook Seabar will undergo a deep cleaning and sanitization, and staff will be able to take any time off needed to seek virus testing if warranted.
Patrons who visited Hook Seabar on the days indicated by VCH are asked to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and seek testing if needed as well.
There is no known risk to anyone who attended any listed locations outside of the specified dates and times. If people remain healthy and do not develop symptoms, there is no need to self-isolate and people can continue with their usual daily activities.
"Please know that we have an extensive COVID safety plan in place and always follow all the guidelines as set out by WorksafeBC and Vancouver Coastal Health," adds the restaurant. "We take the safety of our guests and staff very seriously and look forward to serving you once again soon."
