Fraser Health is warning the public of a recent coronavirus (COVID-19) exposure at a barbershop in Surrey.
The exposures took place at the Man Cave Barber Shop over May 1 and 2 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day inside the City Central shopping mall location.
Last month, another Man Cave Barber Shop at the Metropolis at Metrotown mall in Burnaby was listed for exposures on April 18, 20 and 30 also between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day.
Fraser Health has a running list of locations that have been identified for possible exposure to COVID-19 and while the health authority states being inside one of these locations during the exposure times doesn’t mean you will contract the virus, you should self-monitor for symptoms.
Despite neither location being ordered to close by Fraser Health as of this writing, on May 4 a post on Man Cave Barber Shop’s Instagram page announced the Surrey shop would be closed on May 5 due to an “electrical problem.”
V.I.A. reached out to the Central City Man Cave location by phone Thursday for clarification, however, the call has not yet been returned.
Additionally, Fraser Health has yet to provide V.I.A. with further clarification, if any is available, regarding the Man Cave closure.
Fraser Health states that if you have visited a business identified for possible exposure to COVID-19 it does not necessarily mean you will contract the virus but out of an abundance of caution you should self-monitor for symptoms.
