Vancouver Coastal Health has announced the first dose of the coronavirus vaccines is now available for priority frontline workers ages 18 and up in the region.

Vancouver Coastal Health announced Thursday that first doses of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines are now available for priority frontline workers ages 18 and up.

In a recent social media post made by the health authority, the frontline workers include employees at identified at-risk businesses, K-12 educational staff, first responders, child-care staff and grocery store workers. Eligible workers will receive information from their employers about how to register and then book an appointment using a unique access code.

This follows a similar announcement made by Fraser Health Thursday that all adult grocery store staff are now eligible to receive either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine. Which kind of vaccine will be available to residents within Vancouver Coastal Health was not specified.

More information on vaccine rollout and steps to register online can be found on Vancouver Coastal Health’s website.
