Geoff Meggs, an award-winning journalist and communications specialist, was first elected with Gregor Robertson's Vision team in 2008 and quickly became the point person on council for transportation issues. Geoff has spearheaded the City’s efforts to build a Broadway Subway as Vancouver’s top transportation priority.
Geoff also championed a planning review of the Georgia and Dunsmuir Viaducts, unanimously approved by council, to open up new opportunities for public space, affordable housing and parks on the north side of False Creek. In 2013, council agreed to extend this study to include the critical False Creek Flats that make up the last major area of undeveloped land in the city core, which will report back in 2015.
Geoff is one of Vancouver's directors at Metro Vancouver, where he serves on the water committee, the housing committee and the labour relations bureau. A strong supporter of the arts, Geoff and his family live in False Creek and relax by cycling, hiking and bird-watching.
