Vancouver Opera Festival
Music lovers, it’s not over until the final note is sung during the popular annual Vancouver Opera Festival, featuring free and ticketed performances throughout the city. This year’s theme is Fairytales and Fables, and includes nine days of stellar programming ranging from workshops and lectures to parties on the plaza and high-wattage performances.

Woolith Fair
This three-day yarn crawl across Metro Vancouver and surrounding communities is all about shopping local and supporting the region’s many yarn makers and vendors. Organized by the West Coast Knitters’ Guild, Woolith Fair 2019 features 23 participating yarn shops and fibre arts-related businesses. The event is open to everyone and encourages yarn enthusiasts to hit up as many of these spots as possible.

Art Vancouver
Art Vancouver is dedicated to raising awareness of the up and coming art scene in Western Canada. Now in its fifth year, this international art fair brings talent to Vancouver from around the world and within the community.

Annual Plant Sale at VanDusen Botanical Garden
Green thumbs, you’ll dig this one: the 41st annual plant sale at VanDusen Botanical Garden is all about loving plants and celebrating this Vancouver landmark as a gathering place. Be inspired by what’s in bloom right now such as magnolias, cherry blossoms, camellias and more, then pick up some plants to grow back at your home. All proceeds from the sale go to the Vancouver Botanical Gardens Association.

Anoushka Shankar in concert
Divine sitar player, acclaimed composer and one of contemporary India’s cultural gems, Anoushka Shankar will perform songs from her brand-new compilation album Reflections, which draws on classical ragas as well as contemporary cross-cultural pieces that showcase the versatility of the sitar across musical genres.
