If you’re going to indulge this year at Pride, get in the spirit with a Pride-themed craft beer or cocktail.

Ryn Broz, founder of the popular Queers & Beers monthly East Van craft beer meet-up at The Cobalt, wanted to get into the brew game and figured she’d invite her friends along for the tasting.
“I wanted it to be the gayest beer ever,” she laughs. “The beer we made turned out a bit different than what we had planned, but that’s brewing.”
Dubbed the Rainbow Dreamsical, the wheat based brew is both creamy and fruity, clocking in at 5 per cent ABV and boasts a modest 15 IBUs.
The collaboration with Real Cask Brewing, spearheaded by Broz and Adam Chatburn, went down at Callister Brewing Company, the co-op brew spot where Broz says small-batch, innovative beers are encouraged in an effort to support independent and beginner brewers like herself.
Rainbow Dreamiscal will be on tap at Callister and The Cobalt throughout Pride weekend, until the kegs run dry.
HARVEY MILK

Kaitlyn Stewart, bar manager at Royal Dinette, is known for getting creative. Incorporating Portuguese milk liqueur, Stewart has fashioned a new cocktail with a Pride theme. The Harvey Milk was inspired by the LGBTQ pioneer of the same name, the first openly gay person to be elected to public office in California, who Stewart considers one of the biggest and most significant gay advocates of the last 50 years.
Stewart collaborated with Absolut Vodka to create the cocktail, infusing her homemade liqueur with blueberries to create a shade of purple in an homage to the queer community.
Swing by Royal Dinette this Pride weekend to visit Stewart and put your lips on Harvey Milk.
