The annual Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant 2018 Final, organized by Richmond-based Fairchild Television, will take place on Dec. 6.
Ten finalists will “conquer the stage with a shining and remarkable performance at the final with beauty, courage and confidence,” the press release read.
According to Amber Ting, promotion executive of Fairchild Television, this is the 24th year the company has held the contest.
She said participants this year have to be between 17 to 28 years old, and live in Vancouver.
“We will select one Miss Chinese Vancouver for the national competition. The champion, Miss Chinese Canada, will compete with champions from other countries for the Miss Chinese International title in Hong Kong,” said Ting.
Winners of the international competition will have the opportunity to join a major Hong Kong television company and start a career as a professional actress.
Actresses that are well-known in Asia coming out of the Vancouver competition include Linda Chung, Bernice Liu and Gloria Tang.
