Hooked on TV’s riveting Riverdale? If you’re a super fan, there’s going to be a Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe Pop-Up in Vancouver for one day only, and they’ll be giving out free milkshakes.
On Friday, Oct.13 from 7-11 p.m., Vancouver’s Riverdale lovers will want to be at The Templeton diner, which will morph into Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Jughead’s favourite hang, Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe.
The pop-up means you’ll get to see what life is like in Archie’s shoes: You’ll have to decide if you want a Betty or a Veronica. That’s what they’re calling their two milkshake selections. Predictably, Betty is “Old Fashioned Vanilla” and Veronica is “Double Chocolate.”
Two hundred free shakes will be given out. Once you get your sweet treat, you can re-watch the Riverdale season 2 premiere, which hits Netflix on October 12.
And if this whole event smells like a stunt, well, yes, it is. Netflix is behind the pop up and the freebies, just like they were for this year’s Gilmore Girls reunion mini-series, too.
If you’re a hardcore fan, you may want to make the trek to Mission, where much of the series is shot, to see Rocko’s Family Diner as the pop-up Pop’s, and catch a screening of the season 2 premiere. That happens Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
