Vancouver is a city on the edge of nature. Surrounded by mountains, oceans, and landscapes, there are numerous opportunities to find stellar views.

Make 2016 the year you get out and explore your backyard more often, with the right vehicle for the job. The 2016 Honda HR-V is packed with ample space for outdoor gear such as skis and mountain bikes, along with top of the line technology with their Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System, the new HR-V makes getting to these destinations a breeze. And their HondaLink technology allows you to connect not just your music but your favourite apps as well, to ensure your adventures on the road are anything but dull.

So with a car in mind to head out on your adventure with, we’re bringing you some classic Vancouver viewpoints as well as some under-the-radar spots:

This slightly lesser-known bridge for tourists comes with a major plus - it’s completely free! Lynn Canyon offers beautiful trails surrounded by lush trees, and leads to a suspension bridge offering stunning views of the surrounding terrain and river.

2. Cambie Bridge

The Cambie Bridge is perfectly situated between Olympic Village and the Burrard Bridge. It offers views of David Lam Park directly below it, Granville Island to the West, Olympic Village to the Southeast, as well as the North Shore Mountains in front. Picture perfect!

3. Lighthouse Park

Lighthouse Park is located on the coast of West Vancouver and consists of lush rainforest with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. It also comes with - you guessed it - a lighthouse. The park is also known to be home to some of the largest Douglas Fir trees in Greater Vancouver.

4. Grouse Mountain

Grouse Mountain is a beautiful spot to visit year round. In the summer, it’s home to the physically challenging Grouse Grind which rewards determined climbers with lovely views at the top. In the winter, you can do some night skiing on Grouse, which offers a view of the city’s night lights.

5. Queen Elizabeth Park

Queen Elizabeth Park sits at the top of Mount Pleasant with a large dome that’s home to the Blodel Floral Conservatory. After taking a stroll inside the dome, head out to the viewpoint and take a beautiful shot of the centre of Vancouver, complete with a picturesque backdrop of mountains.

6. Stanley Park’s Prospect Point

One of the most popular spots in the city for capturing that perfect view, it’s also the highest point in Stanley Park. Here, you get an all-access view to the North Shore Mountains, Lions Gate Bridge, and Burrard Inlet. After enjoying the views, you can hop over to Prospect Point Cafe to enjoy some of the local fare, or grab some ice cream to go.

7. UBC Botanical Garden

Perhaps the most underrated spot in the city, the UBC Botanical Garden offers a quintessential Vancouver experience - immersing oneself in nature. For only $24 for an all-inclusive pass, you get access to the Botanical Garden, Nitobe Garden, and Canopy Walkway guided tour, all of which easily takes a full day to enjoy. While it may not be an epic city skyline viewpoint, the gardens offer an escape from the city, and a chance to be above the trees and surrounded by fantastic blooming gardens.
