A couple of months ago it was announced that the Cloud 9 Revolving Restaurant perched atop the Empire Landmark Hotel at 1400 Robson would be closing in September. Making way for two residential towers, the demolition is set to begin soon and a liquidation sale has been announced.
They’re currently doing a pre-sale to bulk buyers (hotel and food industry folk) by appointment only and will be announcing a public sale shortly. In the meantime why don’t you browse around the galleries of photos they’ve got up showcasing the eerie empty hotel, restaurant and fixtures that will soon be plucked, pried and repurposed.
Oh, and don’t worry; we still have one revolving restaurant! Top of Vancouver at Harbour Centre has a monopoly on the 360 degree view dining experience, and it’s worth checking out.
