Davie Street Block Party

Kick off Pride proper and take to the streets with the annual party in the heart of the Davie Village. Pound the pavement to some of the city’s hottest talent, witness the annual Wimple-In ceremony with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, play Giant Jenga and Twister or human foosball! The Community Stage at the rainbow crosswalk at Bute has the party spilling out of the exploding beer garden, so come celebrate the start of the weekend with the LGBTQ community here, and from around the world. 6pm-12am on July 31 at Davie St. between Burrard and Jervis.

37th Annual Pride Parade

Nestled between the city streets of the West End against the breathtaking view of English Bay, Vancouver’s annual Pride Parade celebrates more than three decades of this beautiful, diverse, proud community and its allies. The family-friendly event attracts crowds of over a half a million faces and is renowned the world over as one of the largest and most successful LGBTQ events in the world. This year, parade marshals Roan Reimer, Michelle Fortin and Romi Chandra Herbert lead the way, but come prepared – it’s loud, it’s proud, it’s hot and sunny and full of colour. Bring sunscreen, and be green: take what you bring! Parade starts at noon sharp on Aug. 2 at Robson & Thurlow, winding down to Denman and across Pacific to Sunset Beach.

Sunset Beach Pride Festival

Follow the parade to its happy ending and celebrate Pride in one of Vancouver’s most beautiful waterfront parks. Bring your friends, bring the family! The Pride Market hosts hundreds of exhibitors, local artisans, community organizations, and food trucks. Check out live music, drag performers and speakers throughout the afternoon on the main stage or get down with DJs spinning in the beer garden. Sunset Beach is completely accessible, shade tenting will be provided and ASL interpreters will be provided by the BC Rainbow Alliance for the Deaf. Oh, and think about biking down – bike valet is on site. 11am-6pm on Aug. 2 at Sunset Beach (Beach Ave. at Jervis).
