Burnaby lane closures continue for FortisBC project

FortisBC crews continue to work along Broadway, at the Madison Avenue-Lougheed Highway intersection, and on the Burnaby Mountain trail.
FortisBC
Parts of Lougheed Highway were previously closed by FortisBC as it replaced its gas line. Now it's proposing building a new gas line in Burnaby.

FortisBC crews continue to work along Broadway, at the Madison Avenue-Lougheed Highway intersection, and on the Burnaby Mountain trail. This includes:

  • the second stage of the Broadway-Arden Avenue intersection crossing, with the northbound lane closed and traffic detoured via Enterprise Street and Underhill Avenue; work is expected to last until mid-May; the intersection is open for southbound traffic
  • ongoing restoration work on Lougheed Highway between Bainbridge and Madison avenues, with temporary lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.; restoration work includes streets, curbs and medians and re-instating traffic and street lights; work is expected to finish mid-May.
  • the reopening of Springer Avenue for traffic north of Lougheed Highway.
