OK, so the whole Penis Satan statue thing hasn't worked out (yet), but maybe its replacement will?
The folks at Vancity Buzz noticed that another (or the same?) guerilla artist has erected a penguin sculpture in the same location as the Beezelbub-with-a-Boner statue, at Clarke and Grandview Highway.
The penguin is considerably less offensive, sporting pink sunglasses and a nifty polka dot bowtie. Still, the sculpture is unsanctioned, so there’ll be surprises if and when city engineers take it down.
Now, the waiting game begins.
UPDATE
City workers removed the penguin around 5pm Tuesday, according to the Province.
