Vancouver police Wednesday identified the victims of Sunday’s double homicide as Vancouver residents 57-year-old Sandra McInnes and 51-year-old Neil Croker.
The pair was found dead after police were called to an apartment at 1835 Morton Ave. at around 5 p.m. Sunday. Officers initially took two people into custody. However, both have since been released pending further investigation.
“The information collected so far suggests that this was a targeted, isolated event and that the general public is not at risk,” Sgt. Jason Robillard said in a press release. “Officers have been working with building residents to ensure that their safety concerns are being addressed.”
The VPd is asking anyone with any information about the murder, or who may have seen any suspicious activity around 1835 Morton Ave. from the afternoon of Saturday, July 8 to the early evening of Sunday, July 9, to contact investigators at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
