TransLink has found a new famous face to voice its transit announcements.
In a tweet, the transit operator confirmed that Vancouver-born actor Seth Rogen had taken on the job.
“Hey Vancouver it’s Seth. Here’s a tip to make your transit ride even more awesome,” Rogen says in the video:
Morgan Freeman was originally chosen to promote TransLink’s ‘Tap to Pay’ feature in a campaign sponsored by Visa but faced allegations of sexual harassment from a number of women featured in a CNN investigation.
Freeman has denied the allegations but the controversy resulted in TransLink pulling his voice from the transit ads.
Rogen tweeted “if they need a replacement now let me know” and TransLink replied to the actor on Twitter offering to start a direct-message conversation.
“Mr. Rogen offered to work with TransLink free of charge and we accepted his offer in the pursuit of providing a better customer experience and to share pride in the region,”says Steve Vanagas, VP of customer communications and public affairs for TransLink.”Watch for Mr. Rogen as a guest voice on our system in the coming weeks.”
