Playground closures, announced by the city on Friday, have now taken effect.
On March 20, Malcolm Bromley, Vancouver Park Board’s general manager, announced the closure of 166 playgrounds in more than 200 parks across the city, a move to avoid people being too close to each other and potentially spread the virus.
This morning, March 22, the Vancouver Park Board announced it is closing all public outdoor recreation facilities within parks and beaches. Volleyball, skate parks, field sports, tennis, and more are now closed.
