Vancouverites will have a chance to send some support to Canada’s Olympic athletes at a special event later this week.
On Friday The Golden Stick tour will make its final stop at Vancouver’s Jack Poole Plaza from 10 a.m. until noon residents will be able to tap the stick in a show of support for Canadian Olympic athletes competing in PyeongChang.
The Golden Stick has traveled across the country from Halifax, stopping in eight cities along the way. Olympic freestyle skier, and eight-time X Games gold medalist Kaya Turski will host Friday’s event, sharing her stories about the values learned through sport, sending advice and messages to PyeongChang, and tapping the Golden Stick in support of team Canada.

Designed by Canadian Tire, the Golden Stick is equipped with GPS tracking technology and a counter to monitor the number of taps received for Canada’s athletes. After Friday’s event here the stick will make its way to Canada Olympic House in PyeongChang.
