Andrew Weaver announced in October that he was resigning as leader of the B.C. Green Party, but would stay on until a new leader is chosen. He would remain as MLA for Oak Bay-Gordon Head. In January, citing health concerns, he announced that he was immediately leaving the B.C. Green Party caucus and would sit as an Independent MLA.
