The Van Tech Talismen withstood another five-set final after taking a 2-0 lead over the Moscrop Panthers in the senior boys AAA Lower Mainland tournament on Nov. 18 at David Thompson secondary
After going up two sets, the Talismen dropped the next two and let Moscrop back in the game while fans for both schools sat on opposing sides of the bleachers and screamed their support in an exciting, close game.
The city champions just barely won the VSSAA title in a five-set thriller against the Killarney Cougars two weeks earlier.
Despite a near upset, the province's no. 3-ranked Talismen won the decisive fifth set over the Panthers and advance as the region's no. 1 seed at the B.C. Championships.

The senior boys AAA provincial tournament runs Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 at the Langley Events Centre.
