The 1975 are playing Vancouver Nov. 29, and for Canadian fans of the English rock band it's a big night.

Vancouver is The 1975's only concert date in Western Canada and one of the band's last shows of 2023 (with only Portland and Seattle left) as they close out their Still...At Their Very Best tour for the year.

The critically acclaimed rockers are known for their dreamy, 80s-influenced pop-rock with poetic lyrics. With songs like "Chocolate," "The Sound" and "Somebody Else" (among others) the band has cemented itself as one of the major English pop-rock bands of the last 10 years.

Opening for The 1975 is Dora Jar, a New York City pop musician with a quirky, somewhat Bjork-like set of songs.

Doors for the show open at 7:30 p.m.

A note for fans after the show; the band tends to upload photos and video of the night's concert the next day or two afterwards on official accounts.

Tickets

Quite a few tickets to see The 1975 play live in Vancouver are still available, especially in the lower bowl of Rogers Arena.

The cheapest tickets are going quickly with a couple of dozen still available for $80.50 after taxes; there are a few other seats going for under $100.

In general, tickets are not particularly expensive compared to other recent shows at Rogers, with floor tickets still available for $166.50 after fees; given lead singer Matt Healy's history at live shows, there's a chance to see some of his antics up close (he's kissed fans and jumped into the crowd to sing).

Transportation

Depending on how late the show goes, those travelling home after on the Canada Line may be delayed a bit as there's track maintenance from 11 p.m. until the end of the service day between Bridgeport and Waterfront stations.

In Richmond, Capstan Station construction means the Richmond-Brighouse segment of the SkyTrain line will be closed after 9:30 p.m., as well; instead, there'll be a bus bridge.

There's also some work being done on the Expo Line which means SkyTrains may be delayed 12 to 20 minutes after 11:30 p.m., as well.

No additional TransLink service is expected.

Hullo has not announced any extra ferry sailings to/from Nanaimo for Vancouver Island fans.

Merch

The 1975's merch table has been rushed during some shows on this tour as they only make a couple hundred posters for each venue, with the date and location of that night's show.

While prices can change at each venue, someone created a video at a Toronto show earlier this month of the band's selection (along with prices).

Restrictions

A few things aren't allowed in Rogers Arena for the show. Notably, some bags won't be permitted; all bags need to be under 35.5 cm by 35.5 cm by 15.2 cm. For reference, 35.5 cm is just a bit over 13 inches.

Rogers Arena is also a smoke-free zone, as far as cigarettes and cannabis are concerned. The band may have smoke machines.

Other common sense items are to be left at home as well, like skateboards, selfie sticks, and outside food and drinks.

Cashless Venue

Rogers Arena has gone cashless.

"Concession, retail stands, & hospitality will exclusively accept contactless forms of payment," states the venue's website.

Fan Service

Rogers Arena has a fan service number to text if there are any issues during the show: 604-765-3267.

Concertgoers can text their issue and their location (seat number and row along with the section) and get help.
