A new night market is coming to Port Moody on Friday (June 2).
But don't worry if the weather is cool or a little showery.
This market is indoors, at the Site B community and event space at 3012 Murray St.
It's organized by Langley-based The Collective Markets, that runs similar ventures in Tsawwassen and pop-up events in Victoria, Cloverdale and Pitt Meadows.
Founders Jessica Hallstone and Caitlyn Domijan said they "look for a variety of high quality vendors who are active in the handmade community and on social media" to populate their events.
They said the goal is to create "a unique shopping experience where vendors and shoppers have a fun space to meet, shop and support each other."
The Port Moody night market will feature more than 50 small, local vendors like PoCo Soap Co., Sweet Pea Designs and Ethereal Juelcraft.
As well, there will be food from BC Taco and beer from Brave Brewing along with activities like live music, bocce and giant Jenga.
Friday’s market runs from 4 to 10 p.m. Admission is $5 for visitors over 12, with proceeds going to Basics For Babies, a Lower Mainland organization that supplies baby products like formula, pablum and diapers to area food banks.
Additional markets are scheduled for July 28 and Sept. 22.
