On December 23, Vancouver's music + comedy communities will come together to collect warm clothes and blankets for the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre.
Taking place at the Fox Cabaret on Saturday December 23rd, the drive will feature performances by the city's finest bands and comedians. Admission for the event is free with a donation of ether a blanket, sweater, or socks, all of which will be donated to the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre.
"We wanted to host a variety style show where we could help give back to the community some", says Adam Fink, who organized the event alongside Trevor Risk, Danny Fazio and The Fox. "It's really fun to host an event that is made up of a very diverse line up."
The second annual Winter Warmer will feature performances by Jo Passed, Douse, Trish + Hatch from The Charm Offensive, Yumi Nagashima and members of local comedy group, the Sunday Service.
"We love working with them as they provide much needed support to women and families in need and as this time of year", says Fink. "It's especially tough for single parents and children. Being able to work with an organization that directly benefits this section of the community is really worthwhile."
In addition to warm weather attire, proceeds from the evening will also benefit the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre.
So on December 23, grab an extra winter coat and warm up at The Fox. Expect good cheer, good will, good vibes, and great performances.
