The False Creek Ferries' annual ballet will take place on Canada Day starting at 8 a.m. on the eastern edge of False Creek near Olympic Village and moving east to Granville Island.

Once a year, False Creek is filled with the beauty of dance.

The False Creek Ferries crews are once again planning their annual Canada Day performance, which will see the little boats work their way east to west in unison.

Almost every year the little boats go out on the water to perform manoeuvres like the "Circle of Death" or "Crossover."

After the performance, they'll be back to work transporting people across the waterway.

"It’s a pretty expensive performance to put on, unfortunately," notes the company in an Instagram comment. "The rest of the time we need the boats to ferry everyone back and forth!"

This year it'll be an early start on July 1, with the aquatic dance beginning at 8 a.m. by the shores of Olympic Village. Performances will continue up the False Creek over the next hour, and by 10 a.m. they'll be wrapping up off Granville Island.

On social media, False Creek Ferries suggests watching from the seawall or bridges in the area, or a balcony.
