The Capilano Suspension Bridge and park is awe-inspiring any day of the year, but come the holiday season when the trees and bridges and more are illuminated for Canyon Lights, it's an experience like none other.
Running from November 23, 2017 to January 28, 2018, hundreds of thousands of lights will shimmer brightly as the suspension bridge, Treetops Adventure, Cliffwalk, the rainforest and canyon become a sparkling winter wonderland.
What's especially magical about taking in Canyon Lights is the whimsical way the lights are artfully integrated with nature--running up majestic tree trunks, reflecting off the water, glinting on the paths--and the thrill of crossing the bridge with the waters rushing below or journeying along the lit-up Treetops Adventure, starring the world's tallest Christmas trees: eight 250-year-old, 30-ton Douglas-firs.
To be fair, photos (particularly on a warm and rainy night) don't do Canyon Lights much justice, but just in case you were on the fence about checking it out this year, we've got a few snaps from the pre-opening night to sway you.
