We all know Dine Out Vancouver, the annual "shoulder season" dining event that finds local restaurants serving up special fixed-price menus for a couple of weeks to kick off the new year. So how about a fresh new event from them that gives us another way to support Vancouver's great restaurants while enjoying the great outdoors?
Organized by Tourism Vancouver, Dine Out is making an unexpected return this summer, with an al fresco twist. Called Dine OutSide, this new seasonal fest will make the most of the warm weather and the city's many regular and temporary patios.
Dine OutSide will find Vancouver restaurants offering up prix fixe menus at $15, $25, $35 or $45 price points, or special promotional offers for diners to enjoy on-site. Don't want to dine in? No problem. Dine OutSide will also feature special take-outside and picnic packs for you to grab and go and enjoy in a park, at the beach, in one of the city's many pop-up plazas, or at home.
“Dine OutSide is a terrific way to support the city’s exceptional culinary talent and enjoy the benefits of a city immersed in nature – whether that’s enjoying drinks on a patio or taking a picnic to Stanley Park. Our restaurant and hospitality partners who make up an important part of our tourism industry have been hard at work the last few months to ensure the safety and health of patrons. There’s never been a better time to explore what our city is dishing up!” said Royce Chwin, CEO of Tourism Vancouver, in a media release.
This new summer food fest runs from August 21 to September 21, 2020. Details regarding participating restaurants and offers will be online starting August 13.
