A movie that was filmed in part at a Port Coquitlam high school starts streaming this week.
Prom Pact, a romantic comedy set at Terry Fox Secondary, can be seen on the Disney Channel at 8 p.m. tomorrow (March 30) and on Disney+ Friday (March 31).
Directed by Anya Adams, the feature film stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Milo Manheim, Blake Draper, Margaret Cho and Wendi McLendon–Covey.
But about 50 Terry Fox students — as well as principal David Starr — were also cast in the flick as paid extras, including Hannah Rao and Brayden Morgan.
During the filming last spring break, the pair told the Tri-City News that the school was unrecognizable as movie crews modified the Riverwood Gate building to resemble an American high school with "The Bulldogs" logos.
The Fox actors danced in the hallways and at a school event in the gym.
The story centres around the character of Mandy Yang and her friend, Ben, as they witness over-the-top "prom-posals" by their fellow classmates.
Still, when Yang is put on the wait list to attend Harvard University, she cozies up with the school’s top jock, Graham Lansing, whose dad is a senator and Harvard graduate.
